Just a quick peek at what I managed to score in February.
MAC Lady Danger Lipstick - My Back 2 MAC redemption. One of the most amazing, bold colours ever. I'll wear it this year. I promise.
Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Blush (Limited Edition) - Remember when I was whining and pining for it? Chloe picked it up for me and also passed along a My Beauty Diary Natto Mask. Thanks again, Chloe!
Jurlique Rose Love Balm - All my current lip balms are on the utilitarian side and not much fun. As you may recall, I harbour a fondness for rose scents. It's basically a tiny pot of aromatherapy for on the go.
Fruits & Passion Monoi Shower Oil, Monoi Nourishing Butter, Bamboo Body Souffle - I managed to bypass Bath & Body Works' annual blowout sale but Fruits & Passion reeled me in at the beginning of February with a great deal. I've tried the Monoi Body Scrub and Butter before, which I loved. And I've always wanted to try the Bamboo series which smells like the best of spring time. All three for $24 was too good to pass, considering each item is $15-20 regularly.
Chanel Frivole Joues Contraste (Limited Edition) - Probably my last real splurge for a while. Loving it - no regrets!
Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in 07 Smokey Passion - The result of a successful swap. I'm basically in love with everything Clarins now.
Estee Lauder Topaz Chameleon Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee (Limited Edition) - Remember this? These goodies were tottering around Winners for $25 as opposed to the regular $45-50, which I still considered too much. Then it dropped to $15, and while confused as to how I might actually wear it, I couldn't resist.
MAC STUFF GALORE - I had a visit with the lovely MAC Fairy and had requested Melba Blush and Korean Candy Lipstick. Then she spoiled me rotten as usual with the rest. I LOVE YOU, MAC FAIRY!
Sephora Samples - Totally in love with the NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil. It's too bad that the regular size is so expensive.
LOTS AND LOTS OF PR SAMPLES - I'm hoping to wade through reviews on a weekly basis, but March is going to be slow and I'll probably post a lot more in April to make up for it.
Clearly, I never need to shop at the drugstore ever again. @_____@
That's it for now. Like I said before, I'll try to post at least twice a week, and sorry if I'm not around much to visit blogs to comment or do tags and everything else. On top of being swamped at both work and school, I'm making a big life change this month and honestly have no idea what to expect. But one thing at a time. Right now I have to work on a paper and tackle a stack of readings. Let me know in the comments if you are curious about any of these items in particular and I'll do my best to accommodate.

i adore your MAC fairy :) !
ReplyDeleteShe's lovely. :)
DeleteNice! I'm tempted by Chanel Frivolie! But I bet I have something already like it haha!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm so sure! What's your fave peach blush? I think you need to do a post on that!
DeleteI've been eyeing the Chanel Frivoli for a while now! I'm sure it looks gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm totally jealous about your MAC fairy and this Winners store you always mention!! I would probably live in that place if I had one where I live! Great post, looks like you will be busy with all your new goodies:)
Lol, thanks! Winners can be tricky but I've become good at honing in on the nice items. I'm too busy to actually play with any of these things right now, but hopefully soon!
DeleteLADY DANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it's time for a FOTD :P
ReplyDelete*whimpers* I might do partial shots like Morzelz if I'm brave. :x
DeleteOMG I love the nude oil. That's all :)
ReplyDeleteIt's freaking amazing. Ugh.
DeleteWhat an awesome selection of goodies, Liz! SO excited for Lady Danger and Frivole!!! I actually had a dream last night where I got a pretty large deluxe sample of the Nude oil and gave it to you because I knew you liked it. In this dream, I was also living in this castle where I got around on rollercoasters inside caves, and for some reason I was wearing a ball gown. Um. I guess that's really all I can contribute. That, and YAY MAC FAIRY!
ReplyDeleteOh, Amy, I laughed so hard reading this. PSYCHIC FRIENDS! That dream is awesome. :D
DeleteSeriously, could your pick ups for this month been any nicer?! I indulged in Frivole but have only worn it once, and am needing to finish depotting my shadows to do a Back2MAC soon. Think I am going to go for a paler more nudey sort of shade though, as I chose a dark red last time I went. That MAC Fairy is amazing, looking forward to seeing what you think of Melba (and Korean Candy, oh okay the whole lot ;P)
ReplyDeleteTotally swooning over that Clarin's shot, I have so many of my pics atop books and I need to post them! Love it.
Did you post about the dark red yet? ;) ;)
DeleteI love makeup on books shots too, but I don't do it often for some reason. I think a part of me is ever so slightly uncomfortable with using books as mere prop.
And I'll try to do some sort of review with the items here. Just... freaking time, man. Bear with me!
LOVE YOU, TOO, LIZ! As I have told you a few times before, SO GLAD (and SUPER PROUD) you got Lady Danger!!! And as of last week, it's now available at all MAC locations, not just MAC Stores!!! :D
ReplyDeleteHope you're having fun with all your blushes! If I wasn't on a serious budget this month, I would definitely consider getting Frivole. It looks gorgeous!
As for that Illumating Powder Gelee... I would suggest using a duo-fibre brush (like MAC #187 or something similar) to buff it on to cheeks or wherever you want a glow (but as you are oily like me, I would probably keep it to just cheeks). You can also buff it on top of a bright blush for a diffused golden glow! So much fun for Spring/Summer! :)
I didn't even realize Lady Danger wasn't available at non-MAC store MAC counters. o_O
DeleteI'd like to have some more time on my hands to properly play with these things. I'm reluctant to dip into them until I take pictures first, but either I've been too busy or the lighting has been completely shit. Maybe this weekend!
Thanks for the tip on the powder gelee, and I'm just going to say that you need Frivole. Chanel doesn't do these colours often!
YUP, and I have literally been wearing Lady Danger all week. I may have to call March Lady Danger month. I'm re-obsessed. Looks great paired with Melba or Peaches on the cheeks! :)
DeleteMaybe the next time we meet, we can all wear Lady Danger, LOL! I'm feeling really obsessed with coral red lips right now and keep looking at anything in that colour family.
DeleteWow! Lady Danger is certainly a traffic stopper. I bet it will look amazing on you. Will there be any pictures "in action", please? *puppy eyes* I got Capricious through B2M this Saturday. Told you - berry lipsticks all year long :D
ReplyDeleteThat Estée Lauder powder looks great. Not sure about spring, but for summer - EL on eyes and cheeks, light lip gloss and taadaa, you are ready to go.
You are lucky to have your very own MAC fairy. Hope you will share the details about all new products with us. I was in MAC this weekend, but just stocked up on some basics (boooring).
Dove is a nice high street brand. I especially like their shower gels and body lotions. I will be looking forward to reading your opinion.
As for the rest - we cannot get any of those here, but would like to read about them anyway.
I may instagram like 1/4 of my face while wearing Lady Danger, lol.
DeleteI don't know what it is, but EL does fantastic things during summer. I'm so upset for not picking up last year's Bronze Goddess stuff!
I'll try to get through some reviews soon. I'm dying to sit down and write reviews!
POW!! Holy moley, that IS a lot of PR samples to get through - even if you weren't so busy, that'd take a while, so we'll be very patiently waiting :)
ReplyDeleteYou scored so great stuff last month Liz, good on ya! I also would like to see a FOTD with Lady Danger please!!!
Every time I shower, I try to use as many of them as possible to do some reviews later, lol. It's starting to get kind of confusing.
DeleteThanks and I doubt a full FOTD will be forthcoming. Maybe more partial shots like Morzelz style. ;D
The MAC Fairy strikes again! And that Chanel blush too! I need only go as far as your pick up posts to start writing my own shopping lists :) I had the pleasure of receiving some shampoo samples recently too - I'm currently pampering my hair with some divinely scented products from Toni & Guy. I keep wondering where the lovely fragrance is coming from then I realize - it's my hair! xo
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of amazing how many things accrue at the end of each month. I'm not even shopping as much as I used to, and there's still this ridiculous count.
DeleteLooking forward to your Toni & Guy reviews! I love it when hair products smell good. The only ones I've fallen for scent-wise has been MoroccanOil and the Biolage Matrix Moringa Oil shampoo I reviewed not long ago.
Frivole is gonna look AMAZING! that's loads of PR samples, lol probly will last for > 6 months!
ReplyDeleteI think they're going to last me a couple of years, lol!
DeleteAhhhk--another awesome find at Winners?!! DAMN YOU WINNERS, COME TO THE U.S ALREADY!! :D Oh, and btw, your MAC Fairy sounds more like a MAC Angel!! :P
ReplyDeleteIt's not Winners - it's that *I* am a WINNER. (Snort laugh!) :D
DeleteMAC Fairy, MAC Angel, MAC Goddess - she's awesome. :DDD
Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteThis is becoming one of my favorite Reductionista posts! It looks like the MAC Fairy is pretty amazing---- I was pretty tempted by Korean Candy when it came out too! The Topaz Powder Gelee looks beautiful as well; I think my mom has the same one-- I really liked the texture!
Hi, Dovey! Yet this post is so far from being anything related to reductionista, lol.
DeleteI love Korean Candy for the colour, but the name is awesome, too. Kind of want Sunny Seoul as a companion for it. :D
And your mom is pretty bold with that powder gelee! Mine would never touch it. :)
Nice goodies! I purchased the Melba blush a few weeks ago and love it. What is the prolongwear lipglass shade?
ReplyDeleteHi, Dawn! Thanks and I hope you're enjoying Melba. I'm waiting for a nice weather day to take pics first before dipping into mine.
DeleteThe gloss shade is Forever Rose. :)
Thanks! I'll be getting that one soon.
DeleteYay, we can match!
DeleteChanel Frivole looks gorgeous. It's definitely my colour; but, like Tracy wrote, I think I have something similar. ...Or, I am telling myself I have something similar!
ReplyDeleteYay to Liz's MAC Fairy! Thanks for giving her goodies she can also share with us!
I'm sure that there are lots of dupes out there, but it's so rare for Chanel to do a shade like this that I felt it was worth grabbing. :)
DeleteThanks and I'll try to share some more of the details soon!
Completely agree, lovely selection of goodies, Liz! The Clarins Quartet looks great. I've actually been liking Clarins a lot recently, too. I've used and loved their Everlasting foundation for years, but never really paid much attention to the other products on offer. I've tried a couple of their new lipsticks recently (the Satin Finish Age-defying one's), and am really impressed with them. Will have to look into the eye palettes, as it looks like there are some really nice colour options available!
ReplyDeleteI recently sampled the Clarins Ever Matte foundation and really liked it! It makes me want to switch back to liquid foundations even though I've been in the powder camp for over a year now. They also have these new Rouge Eclat lipsticks and I'm dying to try the vibrant orange shade. I don't know why we didn't look at Clarins sooner, lol!
DeleteThe Chanel blush and Clarins palette are gorgeous! I wanted to get the Clarins Odyssey palette so badly, but somehow resisted and of course it's long gone now. I've never tried any of their makeup but the brand seems to be getting a lot of blogger love. Glad that you managed to get your hands on the Essence blush - even though I have a tonne of peachy blushes, I was super pleased to add it to my collection especially for the measly price tag :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I wanted the Odyssey so badly, too, but I couldn't justify the three neutral shades when I'm drowning in neutral shadows. Basically, I wanted it for that amazing gold shade at the top right corner. :(
DeleteEssence is such a steal that I can't resist. :)
*gasp*!!! Now THIS IS TEMPTATION when I'm on a no buy :-( Thank goodness I got Frivole last month. LOL! But look at that Clarins quad and the Estee Lauder blush/bronzer. *thud* I die!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, everyone needs Frivole. :D
DeleteI'm becoming the worst sort of bargain hunter now. Both cost me next to nothing!
