Tagged! Odd Things About Me

I was tagged ages ago by Dee to confess some odd things about me. Not sure how I'm supposed to choose only a handful among so many oddball quirks -- because I'm basically a weird person -- but here's my paltry attempt. Ever since I announced somewhere that I hate The Muppets (dirty singing socks), people have been trying to figure out what else is weird about me.

I pin like a mother.

The 30,000+ pins that I "like" instead of pinning? I hit the "like" button to save it for later -- and then I "pin" them when I figure out which board they should go to. Something about an image will strike a chord, but often it takes a while to get processed. I have a pretty good memory for what I've already liked or not in the past, but it's gotten to the point where I'm never going to be able to trace back to the first 10,000 likes. So I've taken to double-liking certain images. I KNOW. I despise myself. It's madness.

I don't eat watermelons because I don't like to spit out the seeds.

Pure unadulterated laziness here. It's not that I dislike the taste of watermelon, but I don't like it enough to make the effort. Oh, don't even talk to me about those seedless things. They're not real. I don't eat those either.

I'm totally addicted to General Hospital

The soap I grew up with is actually The Young and the Restless, but GH is where it's at. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for still watching it, but I can't help it. Soaps are so bad that they somehow turn right around and become awesome again. I can't stand Sonny and feel downright murderous when it comes to that shrieking harpy Carly, but I'm waiting for the writers to restore the Quartermaines back to their rightful place at the front and centre of the show, and finally write a good romance for my girl Liz Webber, not involving weeping Lucky and now dead (but not really dead) Jason whose real name is actually The Borg, because neither he nor his ex-actor can emote worth a damn. And can they please bring back the evil Cassadines? Still mourning Stefan here.

I don't like naps.

I don't see the point of naps, no matter how tired I am. Once I am up, I'm up. I'd rather save all that sleep for the end of the day when no one will disturb me for the next 6-15 hours.

I love Shetland Ponies!

Look at their stupid, stunted legs. SO CUTE.

I guarantee, the last video is the the most awesome thing you will see today.

Check back tomorrow to see if you've won the Teeny Tiny Giveaway! I promise to put up some real posts and reviews after that.

  1. Hi Liz, Haha, I enjoyed the pony videos --- very random, but fun. I had no idea people made sweaters for equines...

    1. I've seen pictures of them before and thought it was just mildly amusing, but suddenly I'm in love! :DDD

  2. OMG Liz...that last video. You know, I never really thought you were that weird (likely because I am also weird and so it seems normal), but that....Uh. Yeah. You're a little strange. LOL!!!

Agree with the nap thing though...I have to be dead tired for it to happen and at that point I'm probably staying down, so it's not even a nap anymore.

    1. WHAT. You don't think the last video is the greatest thing ever? :O

Yeah, I can't do "naps." I don't think they count as naps when they pass the 5 hour mark. -__-

I shall name my first Shetland pony "Stumpy."

  4. Haha I don't eat watermelons too but its because I dislike the taste even if chilled watermelon is very refreshing on a hot hot day :)

    1. The taste is kind of underwhelming. I like the burst of wateriness on a hot day too but can't say that I ever crave the TASTE of watermelon!

  5. I never ate cherries because the pits are a pain, and then it turns out I don't actually like them that much anyway, haha. I hate to touch my food, though. Finger (non-saucy) foods like hot dogs are okay, but I won't touch a rib - so messy! Which is a shame, as they're delicious...

    1. I don't mind spitting out one pit, but endless amounts of seeds are a total hassle!

I love cherries though. And I love digging into food with hands. Messier the better, lol!

  7. Bahaha, I love Shetland ponies too! That video was so ridiculous, but great. I have a love/hate relationship with naps...they feel great when you're nodding off, and actually napping, but as soon as I wake up, I realised I'd spent 3 hours sleeping, and I always tend to feel a little nauseous for some reason!

    Weird people ftw!

    1. Hi, Maria. Usually I delete comments containing links but yours is so nice that I'm leaving it. Please mind the policy next time!

I hate that nap-time feeling because grogginess makes me cranky. And who can hate Shetland ponies??? They're adorable!

  8. Whoa, it says my comment was published, but I don't recall typing anything in here. Do-over!

If you like Shetland ponies, how about the cat and dog version?? http://imgur.com/gallery/9pp8Ji4

I also hate napping because it's never a half-hour pre-evening process for me like it is for a normal person. My naps always end up starting around 6:30 and end up with me waking up at 2. Hence I comment at weird hours of the night.

    1. OMG MUNCHKIN CAT. I'm not really a cat lover but its short stubby legs are so cute!

Naps are never productive. At least not for people like us. :)

  9. OMG, I used to watch General Hospital when I was in middle school! Hahahahaha!

I pin more than I "like" but a lot of my boards need to be split into smaller boards. But I'm too lazy.

I love watermelons, and I don't mind spitting out the seeds.

    I also love taking naps.

I only watched the last video, but it was seriously awesome.

    1. Okay, so you need to watch GH again, CLEARLY. They brought all the old timers back!

I'm watching that last video again. It makes my life.

    2. I so remember Jason being Borg-like and not emoting!

    3. They centered the show around him and it ruined so many things for me! I'm glad they "killed" him off.

  10. Have you seen the video of goats yelling like humans? One of those clips has goats with teeny little stumpy legs and they are so. effing. adorable.

I can't seem to get in to Pinterest. I'm finding it slightly useful for wedding planning/organization, but that's about it.

Aaaand...watermelon-and-feta salad might be my favourite summer meal ever o.O I can't imagine a summer without watermelon!

    1. I did see the yelling goats but it didn't appeal to me as much as dancing ponies! My favourite goats are fainting goats. :)

Pinterest is a total time suck and a normal, productive person just won't have anything to do with that.

I eat watermelon when it's nicely cut up and de-seeded for me. But none of that chomping and spitting mess. LOL

  11. Squeee! I love Shetland ponies, too! Actually I love all ponies because I'm one of those strange horsey people. I love the Shetland pony attitude as well. They're so naughty, but cute at the same time. My Shetland used to be so bad and get into the craziest predicaments...

Next time you're bored and surfing around Youtube check out the footage of the Shetland Grand National race. Squee!

    2. Yup, her name was Freddie. She lived to be 37 and bucked a five year old kid off the day before she passed away. I also had a little Shetland/Arab cross named Powder Puff. hehe. She was pretty adorbs.

Do you know about Thelwell ponies? They're cartoon Shetlands that I'm obsessed with. Makeup and horses are my obsessions!

    3. Amazing! Honestly, this is incredible. Powder Puff sounds pretty cute. :)

I have an affinity for horses, though I'm not very knowledgeable in horse facts! I've been horseback riding once in my life, which I very much enjoyed though I didn't care for the smells, lol. Trish, I'm starting to think of you as one of the horse lords from LOTR, hahaha! :)

  12. That last video was seriously awesome! The weird thing about me and naps is that when I feel like I'm going to fall over from sleepiness I can take a short nap, but when I just feel a little tired, that nap stretches to 5 hours.

    1. Hehe, I can't imagine anyone not enjoying that video. :D

I think naps often become full-blown sleep and just screws your day/night which ruins the rest of the week.

  13. LOL @ "stupid stunted legs." I love naps, but it's more of a love/hate relationship because they never feel as refreshing as they should.

    1. Exactly! I hate that groggy feeling more than almost anything in the world. I never feel refreshed after a "nap."

  14. Haha Liz you crack me up! I just swallow watermelon seeds. I don't like to spit them out either, but I can't give up on watermelon because it's so delicious! I also don't normally take naps. Maybe once or twice a year I do, especially on a nice and sunny afternoon. I officially admit I've been living with cats for too long ;)

    1. My parents kept trying to make me swallow seeds but I used to be terrified of the seedlings taking root in my stomach, bwahahahaha!

I'm not a cat person at all, but I totally get the sunning out on the porch thing. :)

  15. Ha, love the last video! :D I really can't do naps either, I always end up feeling crappy/more tired after. I definitely prefer to wait till bedtime and have a proper sleep, too.

  16. OMG, THE PONIES. DEAD FROM CUTENESS OVERLOAD.

Okay, see, napping is like, a way of life for me. Like, if napping were a sport, I'd be champion.

I gave up watching soap operas years ago (I was also addicted to The Young and the Restless), but I'm a total sucker for "primetime soaps." You know, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, whatever. When The O.C. was still on? HOOKED.

I refuse to get Pinterest. That's one more thing I don't need to get addicted to. REFUSE.

    1. RIGHT?????????? I want a pony farm in my backyard. Like, REALLY.

LOL @ napping champion. Okay, you win!

Well, I followed Gossip Girl from the start to its bitter stupid end, and I'd totally watch PLL too if I had the time to squeeze in another show. I wasn't a fan of The O.C. but did I ever love Julie Cooper (who is now the super villain on Nikita, my other fave show).

I recently deleted the Pinterest app from my iTouch and feel like I have so much more free time now, lol!

  17. LOLOLOLOL!!! I was chuckling throughout this entire post! If I had to stop and list all of my "weirdnesses", I'd probably have to create a whole new blog around it!!! And yeah - you ARE lazy; those seedless watermelons are not TOTALLY seedless, you silly; they just have really tiny seeds that you can eat without even noticing! You need to try it! And Generak Hospital? I may or may not have been a fan back in the days of Luke & Laura *cough*, but I was a "Days" girl for years & years....don't have the time to watch now, but I'm sure if I tuned it, it would be like stepping right back into a comfy pair of well-worn slippers! Nothing really changes with soaps, does it?!

    1. Hahaha, I can see it now: Ommorphia's Weird Bar! ;)

I don't like eating seeds, even if they're tiny. :( Same thing with peeling oranges! I hate the white stuff and it takes forever to get rid of them!

Luke & Laura are back on for like the 10th reunion or something - and what would soaps be without these repetitions?? You're so right. Their consistent inconsistencies are what makes it so comforting to return to years later, LOL.
